Up the winding road from the little village of Chianacce passing wheat and sunflower fields you will find I Promessi Sposi, the beautiful C17th converted hospital. It is situated amongst the splendid hills between Montepulciano on one side – famous for its great wines, and the ancient Etruscan city of Cortona on the other. The views encompass ancient vines and olive trees and the whole atmosphere is one of peace and quiet. I Promessi Sposi was a hospital, built in the early C17th and is one of the oldest buildings in the area, forming part of the hospital in Florence and details and old photographs of its hospital days can be found in Cortona Town Hall.

The property spent many years as a private residence before being recently restored into seven lovely apartments, all with the original architectural features preserved and tastefully furnished in the traditional Tuscan style with many fine antiques. At the front is a lovely communal terrace area with barbecue and comfortable sofas for guests to enjoy the fine views. A large dining room is also available for groups who wish to request meals. Two swimming pools are situated off the terrace, one for children.

The apartments accommodate from two up to eight people and each has its own private outside terrace area. All kitchens are fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, microwave and washing machines. There is Satellite TV in all apartments and mosquito nets provided in all windows.
