Casali la Torre (the tower houses) are located in an ideal, tranquil spot amongst the Cortona hills. The property is only 500m walk through the park Il Parterre, to the ancient city of Cortona; a beautiful small medieval town whose origins date back to the Etruscan period where many important monuments, museums and churches should be visited. The property Bramasole, the lovely house restored by the well known US author Frances Mayes (“Under the Tuscan Sun”) is only 500m in the opposite direction. The house offers superb views over the Chiana valley and surrounding hills as far as Lake Trasimeno to the east and Montepulciano to the west.

The accommodation comprises two completely renovated, independent stone houses with original wood-beamed ceilings and Tuscan terracotta tiled floors. They are surrounded by extensive gardens, a terrace, and beyond, are the estate’s eight hectares of olive trees and woods offering a wealth of peaceful, relaxing walks. The swimming pool sits in a wonderful panoramic position. Just a few kms distance live the owners, farmers and shepherds for four generations who live on the family farm in the Chiana valley where guests are invited to taste the farm’s products; olive oil, wine, Vin Santo, pecorino cheese etc.

The two houses can accommodate six and four people respectively. Both have two bathrooms and each are equipped with dishwasher and air conditioning. Can be rented separately during mid/low seasons.
